How to register online

  1. Go to the online COVID-19 vaccine registration page.
  2. Press the 'Start now' button and choose your group.
  3. Create your account – you will get a verification email
  4. Click on the link in the verification email.
  5. You will then receive a verification text message (SMS)
  6. Enter the verification code from the text message and create a password.
  7. Enter your personal details.
  8. Review and confirm your details and finish your registration.

Creating your password

You must choose a strong, secure password when registering for your vaccine. This is to protect your personal information.

Your password will not be accepted unless it contains at least:

  • 10 characters in total
  • 1 uppercase letter
  • 1 lowercase letter
  • 1 number
  • 1 special character - special characters include '*&%$!>"{+'

A good way to choose a secure and memorable password is to use 3 random words with numbers and symbols. For example: 3RedHouseMonkeys27!

Web browsers

Avoid using Internet Explorer.

We recommend that you use Google Chrome or Safari.

Web browser buttons

Avoid using the "Back" and "Forward" buttons at the top of your web browser to move through the screens of the registration system.

Instead, use the "Next" and "Previous" buttons on the registration system screens.

Problems entering your personal details

PPS number

You have a PPS number if you have ever been born in Ireland, employed in Ireland or used social welfare services. This includes child benefit payments.

You can find your PPS number on:

  • payslips
  • public services card
  • medical card or GP visit card
  • European Health Insurance Card (EHIC)
  • Drugs Payment Scheme card
  • letters from the Revenue Commissioners or the Department of Social Protection, including those related to child benefit payments

Cannot find your PPS number

Try to find your PPS number yourself on the documents above.

If you still cannot find your PPS number, phone the Department of Social Protection to ask for it. If you are under 18, your parent or guardian will have to do this for you.

Call the Department of Social Protection

Open Monday to Friday: 9.15am to 1pm and 2 to 5pm

Phone: 071 967 2616

Do not have a PPS number

You need a PPS number to register for your COVID-19 vaccine online.

If you do not have a PPS number, call the COVID-19 helpline to register by phone instead. The best time to call is between 1pm and 6pm. You will get through to an operator quicker.

PPS number is already used

You may get an error message from the system telling you your PPS number has already been used.

If you are getting this error, and you have not used your PPS number to register before, call the COVID-19 helpline.

Eircode

Entering your Eircode is the quickest way to complete the address screen on the registration system. This is used to schedule your appointment at a vaccination centre close to your home

Find your Eircode

You can use the Eircode finder to find your Eircode before registering.

Enter your address manually

You can also enter your address manually on the address screen. It should then find your Eircode for you.

Make sure to fill out every line on the address screen. If some fields are missing, the system may not be able to find your Eircode.

If the system cannot find your Eircode

If the registration system cannot find your Eircode after you enter your address, phone the COVID-19 helpline.

GP not listed or don't have a GP

If you cannot find your GP, or are not registered with a GP, you can choose the 'I am not registered with a GP' option on the GP screen.

Register more than 1 person in 1 session

You need to log out after every registration if you want to register someone else.

Use the icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen.

Deaf or hard of hearing

If you are deaf or hard of hearing you can text HSELive on 086 1800 661 to register for your vaccination.

Irish Sign Language users only

If you are a deaf Irish Sign Language user and you need an interpreter to talk to a HSE COVID-19 helpline agent, you can use the Irish Remote Interpreting Service (IRIS).

Registering from outside Ireland or the UK

You cannot register online if you are based outside of Ireland or the UK.

Call the COVID-19 helpline's number for international callers on 00 3531 240 8787 to register by phone instead.

Have all of your registration details prepared before you call so you are ready to register when your call is answered.

Cannot register online

If you cannot register for someone else online, call HSELive.
