Opening hours

Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm, with an emergency on call service provided from 8pm to 8am. Saturday ,10am to 1pm with emergency on call service provided from 1pm. Sunday and Public Holidays, emergency on call service.

Laboratory

The Department provides a comprehensive range of analytical results, observations and interpretation for the requesting doctor as well as clinical liaison and advice. The analytical service encompasses indices of fluid balance, liver function, renal function, carbohydrate and lipid metabolism, and various hormones, proteins, enzymes, therapeutic drugs, tumour-associated substances and many other chemical and biochemical compounds.

Blood Transfusion

The blood transfusion department incorporates the blood transfusion laboratory, the haemovigilance and traceability functions, and the clinical transfusion consultancy service. The blood transfusion laboratory is responsible for serological testing, processing and storing of blood components/products for transfusion.

Ground floor. Through the first double door on the left of the OPD corridor. Up one flight of stairs and turn left at the top. Laboratory reception is through the double doors at the bottom.
