Disabilities Residential Services
United Nations Convention for the Rights of Person with Disabilities (UNCRPD) underpins how Disability Services are delivered and prioritised within the Wicklow area within the available Disability Resources annually. Residential Placements are managed under Community Operations Disability Services Framework for Management of Residential Supports (including Emergency Placements) in HSE Community Healthcare Organisation Areas 2nd Edition – 2019 A residential service is where someone lives most or all of the time. The purpose of this framework is to ensure that: • An equitable, transparent and consistent practice regarding the prioritisation of need of applicants for residential supports is implemented across and within each of the 9 CHO areas. • Measures are put in place to ensure residential placements and supports are only considered when all other options such as respite and in home supports have been exhausted. • A robust review and regular monitoring of the current configuration or delivery of services takes place

People with disabilities who are unable to live at home with supports may be provided with residential services directly by the HSE or, on its behalf, by voluntary organisations that are funded by the HSE.

Referral information
Contact Disability Services Office. Adults must be on a social housing waiting list with local authority. DSAMT is required to be submitted to Disability Services by Primary Service Provider and reviewed annually.
