Community Medical Doctors Service

Community medical doctors receive Paediatric health referrals from PHNS GPS and all health disciplines. Children up to age of 12 can be seen. The referrals are triaged and seen in Clinics across the area. The outcomes include referral on to Hospital services, Primary Care or reassurance that this is not deemed necessary. Community medical doctors are affiliated with the Royal College of Physicians Paediatric division. Community Medical doctors are an integral part of School immunisation programs The Primary program is delivered to Junior infants two immunisations MMR and Tetanus Diphtheria Pertussis Polio. All consent forms are reviewed to insure the Primary immunisation program is complete and that there are no medical queries un answered. The Secondary school program is delivered to First years Hpv, Tetanus Diphtheria Pertussis and Men ACWY. This is 3 vaccines in that visit. Al forma are reviewed and queries are answered. Immunisation queries are researched with NIO and answered. Community Medical Doctors assess eligibility for Primary Medical Certificate. This is issued for persons who are severely and permanently disabled and meet one or more of the criteria set out in Disabled Drivers and Disabled Passengers (tax Regulations 1994).
