Parking

There is paid patient parking availble at the rear of the hospital, a free shuttle bus runs from the car park to the main hospital entrance every 30 mins. The shuttle bus operates from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays). The bus picks up at a bus shelter in the main carpark and drops off at the Main Entrance off The Mall.

Patients should allow 20 minutes prior to appointment to park and get the shuttle bus to the hospital entrance.

Visiting times are:

  • 6pm to 8.30pm

Please do not visit a patient in the hospital if you are feeling unwell. If you have symptoms like a sore throat, cough, temperature, shortness of breath or please do not visit the hospital to help keep vulnerable patients safe.

Important information- there is limited visits in outbreak wards.

If the hospital is managing an infectious outbreak on a ward then access to visitors will be limited to protect patients and visitors.

Visitors need to follow public health guidance and use hand sanitiser regularly during their visit to the hospital. Face masks are available throughout the hospital.

Maternity department

Nominated support partners can visit between 9am and 8pm.

Restaurants

The restaurant is located on level 1 of the hospital, open 7 days per week.

Shop

The shop is located on level 3 of the hospital and is open 7 days per week. The shop provides tea/coffee, snacks and sandwiches as well as newspapers, magazines and toiletries.

Pastoral Care

A Chaplaincy Service is available to all patients.

Patient Advocacy Liaison Service (PALS)

Patient Advocacy Liaison Services are available at Sligo University Hospital. Phone the hospital on 071 917 1111 or ask any member of staff if you wish to speak with a PALS officer.

Payment Information

Patients should phone the number on the back of their invoice to make a payment.

Smoke-free campus

All our hospitals are smoke-free campuses. Smoking is not allowed throughout the hospital and the hospital grounds. Supports available to give up smoking
