The supports are provided by organisations the HSE funds (pays) as part of our mental health supports and services offering.

Pieta
Free support for people who self harm, are thinking about suicide or people bereaved by suicide.
Samaritans
Samaritans services are available 24 hours a day, for confidential, non-judgemental support.
Text About It
Free 24-hour chat service. It provides everything from a calming chat to immediate support for people going through a mental health or emotional crisis.
General mental health supports and services
These organisations provide support for a range of mental health difficulties through:
- phone and email support
- courses
- talk therapy (counselling and psychotherapy)
- support groups
MyMind
A non-profit organisation that provides counselling services online and in person.
This includes:
- 6 free therapy sessions for men - your GP can give you a code to access these
- low cost and affordable therapy - you do not need a referral
- private therapy - you do not need a referral
Grow Mental Health
Peer support to help people recover from various types of mental health problems. Meetings are available online and in person.
Shine
Free 1-to-1 and group supports for people living with mental health difficulties and their families or supporters.
Turn2Me
Free online talk therapy for adults and online support groups for young people age 12 to 17 and adults.
Jigsaw
Mental health advice and support for young people age 12 to 25, and for parents or concerned adults.
Social prescribing services
Social prescribing connects you with activities and supports in your area that can benefit your mental health.
Mental Health Ireland
A network of regional volunteers and community groups that offer community-based mental health support.
Specialist supports and services
These organisations provide support for specific groups or mental health difficulties.
You do not need a referral from a GP for these services.
Connect Counselling
Anonymous phone counselling service for survivors of physical, emotional and sexual abuse. This includes former residents of mother and baby homes. You can talk in confidence with a trained counsellor.
Aware
Support for people experiencing:
- anxiety
- mild to moderate depression
- bipolar disorder
- mood-related mental health difficulties
Aware also provides support for friends and family members.
ADHD Ireland
Support and information for young people and adults with ADHD, their carers and their families.
Suicide
Supports are available if you are thinking about suicide or are affected by suicide.
Pieta
Free support for people who self harm, are thinking about suicide or people bereaved by suicide.
Older people
Supports are available for older people and their families.
ALONE
National support and referral line for people over 60. You do not need to live alone to access these services.
The Alzheimer Society of Ireland
Emotional support and information on supports and services for people with dementia, families and carers.
Traveller community
Mental health supports for people in the Traveller community.
Exchange House Ireland
Individual mental health supports, education, training and advocacy for people in the Traveller community.
Traveller Counselling Service
Free online and in-person counselling service for the Traveller community.
Careers and activities
Support is available for people in certain sectors or jobs.
Minding Creative Minds
Free wellbeing and support for people in the creative sector, including counselling.
