Referring yourself to the NCS

The National Counselling Service (NCS) accepts self-referrals from people age 18 or older who:

  • are a family member impacted by the Stardust inquest
  • are former residents of a mother and baby home
  • experienced childhood abuse or neglect

We also accept referrals from GP and other health professionals. You do not need a medical card to refer yourself to this service.

Refer yourself for counselling

To refer yourself for counselling, contact your nearest NCS office by phone or email.

We will need your:

  • name
  • date of birth
  • address
  • phone number
  • email address

We may also ask for your GP name and contact information, if necessary.

If you contact us by email, do not include any other personal information.
