Occupational therapy aims to improve people's ability to do everyday tasks if they're having difficulties. It can help you with practical tasks if you are recovering from an illness or operation. Occupational therapists can look at all aspects of daily life in your home, school or workplace. They look at activities you find difficult and see if there's another way you can do it.

Occupational therapy paediatric service

Primary Care Paediatric Occupational Therapy works with children, young people aged 0-18 and their families with non-complex difficulties in functional skills which can impact on their ability to participate in everyday activities. Non complex needs refer to impairments/functional difficulties which result in mild restrictions in participation in normal daily living. Occupational Therapy intervention may be offered in the form of assessment, one to one intervention, group intervention, and/or advice and consultation. The groups offered focus on: Fine-motor skills, Handwriting, self-regulation, organisational skills and transition to secondary school. PLEASE NOTE: It is important that children are waitlisted for a service which is most appropriate to meet their specific needs. Therefore children who are eligible to attend, who are waitlisted for or are currently attending, other services (Enable Ireland, Beechpark, Lucena Clinic, CANNOT ALSO be listed for Primary Care Paediatric Occupational Therapy.
