Occupational therapy aims to improve people's ability to do everyday tasks if they're having difficulties. It can help you with practical tasks if you are recovering from an illness or operation. Occupational therapists can look at all aspects of daily life in your home, school or workplace. They look at activities you find difficult and see if there's another way you can do it.

Occupational therapy adult service

Primary care Occupational Therapists (OT) works with adults from 18 years and over to promote Independence and enable service users to engage with the activities that they need to or want to do in their everyday life. OTs aim to enable service users to achieve maximum independence and quality of life and to develop and maintain a lifestyle that’s meaningful to them. The OT service provides assessment and intervention to individuals who experience functional difficulties that impact upon activities of daily living, including: Self-care, Functional mobility and transfers and provide assistive equipment, advice on activity adaptation, or advice on environmental changes that would be the best way to increase a person’s functional independence.
