Clinical nutrition and dietetics

Clinical nutrition and dietetics work with people who are nutritionally at risk because they are unwell and/or undergoing treatment that affects their nutritional status and their ability to eat or they have a medical condition that requires dietary intervention.

Clinical paediatric dietetics

Dietitians in University Hospital Limerick provide paediatric inpatient and outpatient services to consultant-referred patients for a wide variety of medical and surgical conditions. All referred patients are assessed and a careplan is provided.

Internal directions

Inpatient services are delivered on Rainbow and Sunshine Wards. Outpatient services are delivered on the Caterpillar Day Ward at consultant clinics or in Outpatients 3. To find Outpatients 3: enter the hospital through the Outpatients Department, turn right and go to the end of the long corridor. At the end of the corridor, turn right and go through two sets of double doors. The dietitians’ office is straight ahead. It is to the right of the paediatric clinic and within the same unit as the diabetes department.
