You can use the cervical screening register to:
- check if you're on it
- see when you are next due cervical screening
- update your contact information

Why check if you're on the cervical screening register
Many people who can get free cervical screening are already on the cervical screening register.
But some people may:
- not be on the cervical screening register yet
- be marked as 'inactive' - this can happen if you told us you moved abroad, for example

Cervical screening register information for transgender men
You can have free cervical screening if you're a transgender man.
If you are registered with the Department of Social Protection as female, you are likely to be on the cervical screening register.
If you have a gender recognition certificate and are registered with the Department of Social Protection as male, you are not likely to be on the cervical screening register.

- you first check if you're on the cervical screening register
- when your contact information changes
This is so we can send you a reminder when you are next due cervical screening and your results.
You can update your contact information - but you cannot view the address we have stored for you.

Opting out
You can opt out of cervical screening. For example, if you do not want to go for cervical screening.
Before you opt out, talk to your GP or CervicalCheck to make sure it's safe for you to do so. Opting out may mean early signs of cervical cancer are not found.
You also might decide to opt out if you do not want to get reminders about cervical screening. For example, if you already have cervical cancer and your healthcare team tell you that you do not need further cervical screening.
