The ambulatory gynaecology service carries out minor procedures that can be performed in a clinic setting while the patient is awake and able to talk to a doctor or nurse. Some procedures that can be performed as ambulatory procedures are: removal of small polyps (small tissue growths which are commonly benign). Women can be assessed and treated following a GP referral at this one-stop, “see-and-treat “gynaecology clinic.
