Health service disruptions
The cyber attack on our IT systems has caused some disruptions to our services.
Our EDs are very busy because of the IT outage. Expect significant delays. Please only attend if you need urgent care.
Most appointments will go ahead as planned but many x-ray appointments are cancelled.
Staff do not have access to email at this time. If you need to contact a hospital, please phone instead.
Community health services
Most community health services such as disability, mental health, primary care and older people’s services are operating as normal.
Some screening appointments may be changed this week.
Other health services
Online services affected by the cyber attack include medical card applications and GP visit card applications. There are delays with issuing birth, death or marriage certificates. The processing of requests for records under the FOI Act and Data Protection Acts are also affected.
Cyber attack response
We are working to find out exactly what personal and medical information was accessed in the cyber attack.
There is no evidence that large amounts of patient or staff data has been published online or sold to criminals involved in fraud.
If we are alerted to stolen information appearing online, we will contact the Data Protection Commission and take the necessary action.
