Palliative medicine provides care and pain management, symptom control for terminally ill patients.

The Day Unit complements the care provided by your GP and Public Health Nurse and works in close collaboration with the Specialist In-patient Unit and Specialist Palliative Care Community Team. Members of multi-disciplinary teams meet with each person to assess their needs to offer a planned programme of support through a range of therapeutic and rehabilitative services aimed at meeting specific goals.

Who needs to refer you
Referrals are accepted from the Hospital Consultants or General Practitioners or by a member of the Specialist Palliative Care team. A formal letter may be sent to one of the Consultants in Palliative Medicine.
