Due to increased infection control measures, Wexford General Hospital has suspended visiting throughout the hospital.

Visiting is only allowed in exceptional circumstances, this means visits can be arranged for patients who are critically ill or near the end of their life. Contact the hospital to arrange a visit.

Support partners are allowed to visit the maternity unit.

Parents are allowed to visit children in Gabriel’s Ward.

There is no visiting allowed in the emergency department, except for obstetrics and gynaecology or to accompany children and people who require assistance (elderly or disabled people).

There is bag drop-off available at the main entrance, from 12.30pm to 8.30pm.

Visiting

Visiting times are:

  • 2pm to 4pm
  • 6.30pm to 8.30pm

Children (as visitors)

Do not bring children under age 16, unless patients are critically ill or near the end of their life. Contact the hospital to arrange a visit.

Maternity unit

Visit times are:

  • 6pm to 8pm

Patients can have 2 visitors at a time.

Visit times for support partners are:

  • 10am to 9pm

No children under age 16 are allowed to visit the maternity unit.

Protect yourself and others

Do not visit a hospital if you have any symptoms of cold, flu, COVID-19, or any viral illness.

Clean your hands regularly and use hand sanitiser

You may be asked to wear a face mask and PPE in parts of the hospital.

Do not visit the hospital if you have any symptoms of vomiting, diarrhoea, cough, cold or have a temperature.

Parking

The car park is at the front of the hospital. The ticket machine is in the main reception.

A clamping system is in place so only park in designated areas or you run the risk of being clamped.

The pay machines do not take cards.

You can use your phone to pay for parking.

Parking charges are:

  • €4 up to 3 hours
  • €6 for 3 to 4 hours
  • €8 for more than 4 hours
  • €10 for a 2-day pass
  • €20 for a 5-day pass

You can buy a parking pass from the security office inside the main entrance.
