Due to increased cases of flu at University Hospital Waterford, the following measures are in place:

  • Face masks are required for all staff and visitors, masks are available at the hospital entrances and wards.
  • You will need to contact the relevant ward in the hospital to check if you can visit.
  • Bag drop-off is available at the Dunmore Wing entrance.
  • Patients attending the outpatients and the emergency department should come alone if possible.

Visiting

Visiting times are:

  • 2pm to 4pm
  • 6pm to 7pm

Patients can have 1 visitor at a time.

Support partners can attend appointments.

Exceptional circumstances

Visits are allowed to patients who are critically ill or near the end of their life. Contact the hospital to arrange a visit.

Protect yourself and others

Do not visit a hospital if you have any symptoms of cold, flu, COVID-19, or any viral illness.

Clean your hands regularly and use hand sanitiser

You may be asked to wear a face mask and PPE in parts of the hospital.

Get the flu vaccine and the COVID-19 vaccine to protect yourself and others.
