All hospital visits are temporarily suspended, except for exceptional circumstances.

This is due to increased cases of flu.

Exceptional circumstances

Visits are allowed to patients who are critically ill or near the end of their life.

Visitors must wear face masks and PPE.

Contact the ward manager at the hospital to arrange a visit.

Children (as visitors)

Children are not allowed to visit the hospital unless it is approved by the ward manager.

Maternity unit

Support partners can visit from:

  • 8am and 9pm

Support partners can:

  • come to scans and booking appointments
  • attend the labour ward

Paediatric (children’s) unit

You can visit the paediatric unit at any time.

Patients can have 1 visitor at a time.

Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU)

Mothers can visit the SCBU with their support partner.

Arrange your visit with the SCBU staff. There are no time limits on visits.

Emergency department

There is no visiting allowed in the emergency department.

Protect yourself and others

Do not visit a hospital if you have any symptoms of cold, flu, COVID-19, or any viral illness.

Clean your hands regularly and use hand sanitiser

You may be asked to wear a face mask and PPE in parts of the hospital.

Parking

Parking is available to the side and behind the main hospital. Parking for outpatients is available at St Luke's entrance.

Age-friendly parking spaces are available in the main car park.

The set-down only area is at the front of the hospital.

Parking charges are:

  • free up to 20 minutes
  • €4 up to 3 hours
  • €6 for 3 to 4 hours
  • €8 for 5 hours to 1 day

Visits from religious advisors from all faiths are welcome. Your family can make contact with your religious advisor.

There is an oratory on the ground floor at the hospital entrance.
