Booking a counselling session

The HSE funds services to provide unplanned pregnancy and post-abortion counselling to you, a partner or family member.

It can give you time and space to work through your feelings.

A counselling session usually lasts about an hour.

These can happen:

  • over the phone
  • online
  • face-to-face

Counsellors are professionally qualified and experienced in issues related to unplanned pregnancy and abortion.

Bringing a friend

You can bring a partner, friend or family member with you for support.

Only use HSE-funded counselling

Only visit a HSE-funded unplanned pregnancy counselling service or talk to your GP. My Options can provide you with information on HSE-funded services.

Other services may advertise themselves as unplanned pregnancy counselling services but in fact will try to influence your decision.
