You can use your reference number to check the status of your medical card application online.
When you apply online, you get a reference number at the end of the application process.
When you apply by post and give a mobile number, we send a reference number by text. If you don't give a mobile number, we send a reference number by post.
How long an application takes
We process completed medical card applications within 15 days.
If we don't have all the information we need, we will write to you and let you know what is missing. This will delay the processing of your application.
