Hospital service disruptions

Important

Do not visit a hospital if you have any symptoms of cold, flu, COVID-19, or any viral illness.

Being infection aware

People who need treatment in a hospital or clinic are often more vulnerable to infection than other people.

Protect yourself and others in hospital by:

  • cleaning your hands regularly and using hand sanitiser gel
  • not sharing your personal items with patients - such as your phone or earphones
  • keeping away from patients' beds
  • covering your coughs or sneezes with a tissue or your sleeve - put used tissues into a bin and wash your hands

Face masks

You may be asked to wear a face mask when visiting some health and care settings. The healthcare team will let you know if you need to.

Anyone who wants to wear a face mask to protect themselves and others should do so.
