Biography
Dr. Scanlon is a Consultant Interventional Radiologist at University Hospital Limerick since 2009. He is also an Adjunct Senior Clinical Lecturer at University of Limerick Graduate Entry School (GEMS) since 2011. He delivers formal lectures to GEMS students who rotate through the radiology department on a regular basis as well as those who select radiology for their electives. This delivery is done in conjunction with Professor Austin Stack and Professor Calvin Coffey. He also delivers formal lectures on an introduction to radiology to the entire GEMS cohort.
He is the Clinical Lead for the Radiology Specialist Registrar training programme at University Hospital Limerick. He is also the Clinical Lead for Interventional Radiology at University Hospital Limerick.
Dr. Scanlon has completed two subspeciality fellowship training programs (Interventional Radiology, Cardiovascular Imaging). He gained a broad range of high level clinical experience from the Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago in 2009.
