Biography
Dr. Sabri Taha is a Consultant Physician with over 20 years of experience in patient care, medical education, and research. He graduated in 1995 from the University of Khartoum in Sudan and completed his postgraduate training, earning his MRCPI. He also holds diplomas in Medicine for Older Adults (RCPI, 2020), Clinical Education (NUIG, 2021), and Diabetes Care (Warwick University, 2023).
Dr. Taha has worked in various hospitals in Ireland and Sudan, where he developed skills in patient management, team leadership, and medical procedures. His commitment to patient care and education has been recognised with several awards.
He is an active member of professional societies, staying updated with the latest medical advancements and contributing to the community through research. His projects include studies on drug resistance in tuberculosis treatment in Eastern Sudan, mental health challenges like depression, anxiety, and fatigue in patients with rheumatic diseases at University Hospital Kerry, and the experiences of junior doctors receiving feedback in the workplace at NUIG. Dr. Taha’s research has contributed to improving patient outcomes and enhancing medical education.
Dr. Taha is a Consultant in the Medical Assessment Unit at Nenagh Hospital, where he provides patient care and supports the professional development of junior doctors. His clinical interests include the care of older adults, diabetes management, and integrating educational initiatives into clinical practice to enhance patient care and staff development.
Outside of work, Dr. Taha enjoys engaging in activities that promote well-being and community involvement. He is passionate about reading, teaching, and spending quality time with his family.
