Biography

Mr. Peter Staunton is a specialist in paediatric orthopaedics and joint replacement surgery, treating both children and adults in the Mid West region. He is based in Croom Orthopaedic Hospital and University Hospital Limerick.
Mr. Staunton first earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering before completing medical studies and advanced orthopaedic training with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He also holds a Master of Surgery degree from RCSI and has published extensively in orthopaedic research.
He specialises in treating hip conditions in patients of all ages, from newborns to older adults. This includes developmental dysplasia of the hip and hip conditions in children, teenagers, and young adults. He provides treatments such as hip preservation, arthroscopy, and hip replacement surgery.
Mr. Staunton completed fellowship training in these areas at McGill University in Montreal.
