Biography

Dr. Damien Ryan is a graduate of University College Cork. He completed his postgraduate training in Emergency Medicine in Ireland before Fellowship training in Transport Medicine at the University of Toronto.

Dr Damien Ryan MRCSI, FRCSEd (A&E), DIMC RCSEd, FFSEM, FRCEM was appointed as Consultant in Emergency Medicine at HSE Mid West in 2010. He is a former Director of the Centre for Prehospital Research at the University of Limerick and currently holds the role of Adjunct Associate Clinical Professor of Emergency medicine with the Graduate Entry Medical. In addition to clinical work in the Emergency Department (ED) at University Hospital Limerick, he also has governance of the Injury Unit at Nenagh Hospital.

He is actively involved in clinical research and is Chair of the academic committee of the Irish Association for Emergency Medicine. He is also co-director of ALERT (Limerick - Education, Research, Training) which facilitates education, training and research in the ED in UHL.
