Prof Rajnish K Gupta
Professor Rajnish K. Gupta graduated in 1985 from St. George’s Hospital Medical School, University of London. After training in general medicine, Professor Gupta specialised in Medical Oncology at the Royal Marsden Hospital and St. Bartholomew's Hospital, London. As an Imperial Cancer Research Fund Fellow he undertook his PhD in molecular biology. In 1994, he was appointed Senior Lecturer and Consultant at the Beatson Oncology Centre in Glasgow and then moved back to St. Bartholomew's Hospital in 1996, as Senior Lecturer and Consultant. Professor Gupta was a Team Leader for an Imperial College Research Facility Research Group and an Examiner with the University of London. Professor Gupta moved to Ireland 1999 to help develop cancer services in the mid-west. He is currently Consultant Medical Oncologist, Associate Clinical Director and Lead Clinician, Cancer Services at UL Hospitals Group and Adjunct Clinical Professor at the Graduate Entry Medical School. In 2010, he received the Treaty Stone Award from the Major of Limerick in recognition of his contribution to health services in the region. He is also the senior editor and advisor to Macmillan Cancer Support, UK.
