Biography
Dr Damien Ryan is a graduate of University College Cork. He completed his postgraduate training in Emergency Medicine in Ireland before Fellowship training in Transport Medicine at the University of Toronto. Dr Damien Ryan MRCSI, FRCSEd (A&E), DIMC RCSEd, FFSEM, FRCEM was appointed as Consultant in Emergency Medicine at UL Hospitals Group in 2010. He is a former Director of the Centre for Prehospital Research at the University of Limerick and currently holds the role of Adjunct Associate Clinical Professor of Emergency Medicine with the Graduate Entry Medical School. In addition to clinical work in the ED at University Hospital Limerick, he also has governance of the Injury Unit at Nenagh Hospital. His special area of interest is clinical research and along with Prof Fergal Cummins he has responsibility for the REDSPoT research group based in the ED in University Hospital Limerick. He is secretary to the Research sub-group of the Irish Association of Emergency Medicine.
