Mr Colin Peirce
Mr Peirce qualified from Trinity College Dublin in 2004 with first class honours in surgery. He completed the Basic Surgical Training Scheme followed by an MD thesis in University College Dublin. He completed the Higher Surgical Training Scheme in General Surgery and a one year colorectal fellowship in the Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, USA. He commenced his post in Limerick in 2016. Mr Peirce has over 40 publications including three randomised controlled trials and has received many national and international research awards, travelling fellowships and given several invited international lectures. He was the first Irish recipient of the European Society of Coloproctology travelling fellowship to Japan in 2014. He was awarded the RCSI Ethicon Travelling Fellowship in 2017 to a robotic expert in Seoul, Korea. He is the supervisor of the surgical non-consultant hospital doctors in Limerick.
