You stick nicotine oral strips to the roof of your mouth. They quickly release nicotine into your body. The strips dissolve after about 3 minutes.

This is a fast-acting form of NRT that can be used in combination with nicotine patches.

How to use nicotine oral strips

Start by using 1 strip every 1 to 2 hours. You can use at least 9 strips per day for the first 6 weeks.

Don't eat or drink whilst the strip is in your mouth.

Don't use more than 15 strips each day.

After 6 weeks

After 6 weeks, you should gradually reduce the number of nicotine oral strips you use each day.

You should not use nicotine oral strips for more than 12 weeks.

If you are finding it hard to cut down, talk to your stop smoking advisor, pharmacist or GP. You can also call the Quitline for advice on 1800 201 203.
