Internal Directions: Enter the front door of the UHL hospital, take a right past the shop, follow the curved wall which winds right along a large corridor, you will pass another shop on the right and the Paediatric Department is at the first set of double doors on the left after the shop area

Children's Ark Inpatient beds Paediatric High Dependency Unit
Children's Ark is a 52 inpatient bed unit with children < 2 years on the Rainbow ward, and children > 2 years on the Sunshine ward. There are also two High Dependency beds which manage the care of critically-ill children. This is the only unit outside of Dublin
Referrals and Appointments
Available to: Critically ill Children
Who needs to refer you: On Call Service
Referral Information: Referral Letter to include name, date of birth, address, any relevant medical information specific to the referral, list of current medications prepared by On Call Services
We ask that in the case of children attending for a procedure or appointment, they are accompanied by one adult only and that no siblings may attend.
In the case of day surgery, persons accompanying the patient will not be permitted to wait in the hospital and will be asked to return once the patient has recovered.
