About Midwifery
Midwifery encompasses care of women during pregnancy, labour, and the postpartum period, as well as care of the newborn.
About Infant Feeding
A team of midwives/lactation consultants (IBCLC) provide antenatal and postnatal breastfeeding support and education. Breastfeeding classes are currently online twice a month. One to one and small group sessions are facititated on the antenatal ward. Intensive lactation support is provided on the postanatal ward and NNU when needed. Follow up telephone and video consults are available on discharge and referral to community lactation when necessary.

Special instructions for patients during COVID19
We may ask you to:
- attend a virtual clinic
- wear a face mask/other PPE
- complete a COVID-19 questionnaire by phone before coming to hospital and to repeat same on arrival
- to wait in their car until closer to your appointment time
