Internal Directions: Enter the front door of the UHL hospital, take a right past the shop, follow the curved wall which winds right along a large corridor, you will pass another shop on the right and the Paediatric Department is at the first set of double doors on the left after the shop area

Paediatrics is the area of medicine that manages medical conditions affecting infants, children and young people.
Paediatric Day Ward
There are seven day beds in the Paediatric Day Ward, this Day Ward operates on weekdays. Patients are treated for chronic medical conditions - Oncology, Gastroeneterology, Renal etc. Children are also admitted for Day Case procedures, sedation for Radiological investigations, Phlebotomy and multi-disciplinary team review.
Referrals and Appointments

Who needs to refer you: GP, Consultant, NCHD
Referral Information: Referral Letter to include name, date of birth, address, any relevant medical information specific to the referral, list of current medications.
We ask that in the case of children attending for a procedure or appointment, they are accompanied by one adult only and that no siblings may attend.
In the case of day surgery, persons accompanying the patient will not be permitted to wait in the hospital and will be asked to return once the patient has recovered.
