Enter the front door of the UHL hospital, take a right past the shop, follow the curved wall which winds right along a large corridor, you will pass another shop on the right and the Paediatric Department is the first set of double doors on the left after the shop area

Paediatrics is the area of medicine that manages medical conditions affecting infants, children and young people.
About Children's Ark play room
Our play room provides a fun side to life within our hospital. The Play team provides opportunities for play for all children in the hospital. Our play facilities are designed around the needs of our patients and their families. The Children’s Ark has 2 play specialists and a team of play workers. The play specialists are members of multi-disciplinary team. Play Specialists prepare children for medical and surgical procedures. They help distract children during procedures and follow up with post-procedural play.
Referrals and Appointments
Available to: Inpatients or children attending an appointment in the Children’s Ark
Special instructions for patients during COVID19
We may ask you to:
- attend a virtual clinic
- wear a face mask/other PPE
- complete a COVID-19 questionnaire by phone before coming to hospital and to repeat same on arrival
- to wait in their car until closer to your appointment time
