About Vascular
Vascular Service deals with the diagnosis and management of conditions affecting the circulation, including disease of the arteries, veins and lymphatic vessels. They treat all parts of the vascular system excluding the heart and the brain.
About Vascular
Your vascular surgeon will do a physical examination and to help with further assessment, they may order non-invasive vascular laboratory examinations which use ultrasound to evaluate blockage in the arteries or veins.
Referrals and Appointments
Available to: Adults Teenagers Both inpatients and outpatients that have vascular issues or conditions such as Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA), Varicose Veins or Arteriovenous Fistula (AVF)
Who needs to refer you: GPs Consultants Public Health Nurse Health centres
How to access this service: All information relevant to the referral being sent i.e., bloods, x-rays MRIs, CT, pictures
Special instructions for patients during COVID19
We may ask you to:
- attend a virtual clinic
- wear a face mask/other PPE
- complete a COVID-19 questionnaire by phone before coming to hospital and to repeat same on arrival
- to wait in their car until closer to your appointment time
