About Acute Surgical Assessment Unit
The Acute Surgical Assessment Unit (ASAU) is a rapid access facility for acute surgical patients who are over 16. Patients must have been assessed by a GP or hospital doctor.
The Acute Surgical Assessment unit is a consultant-driven, independent unit that manages all acute general surgical admissions covering general surgery, vascular, gynae, orthopaedic, maxillofacial urology and ENT services for non-COVID patients.
Referrals and Appointments
Available to: Patients who have an urgent problem and require assessment and help form the surgical multi-disciplinary team.

- attend a virtual clinic
- wear a face mask/other PPE
