Internal Directions:
Ground floor. Through the first double door on the left of the OPD corridor. Up one flight of stairs and turn left at the top. Laboratory reception is through the double doors at the bottom.
Opening hours:
8am to 8pm Monday to Friday with an Emergency On Call Service provided from 8pm to 8am.
10am to 1pm Saturday with Emergency On Call Service provided from 1pm. Sunday and Public Holidays Emergency On Call Service
About Laboratory
The Department provides a comprehensive range of analytical results, observations and interpretation for the requesting doctor as well as clinical liaison and advice. The analytical service encompasses indices of fluid balance, liver function, renal function, carbohydrate and lipid metabolism, and various hormones, proteins, enzymes, therapeutic drugs, tumour-associated substances and many other chemical and biochemical compounds.
About Microbiology Service
The Clinical Microbiology laboratory provides a quality diagnostic service in the investigation of the causative agents of infectious disease and the provision of antimicrobial susceptibilities to its clients. Services provided: General Microbiology including Mycobacteriology, Faecal Parasitology, Mycology (referred test), Therapeutic Drug Monitoring for aminoglycosides and glycopeptides, Antimicrobial Susceptibility testing based on the EUCAST standards.
