Parking
Car parking at Nenagh Hospital is free of charge. There are 2 car parks in Nenagh hospital, one is located at the front of the hospital and the other one is near the Outpatients Department.
Visiting hours
Due to COVID-19, visiting is not permitted at this time. Exceptions to our visiting restrictions are parents visiting children and people visiting patients at end of life. Only one visitor is allowed per patient. Children are not allowed to visit the hospital.
Restaurants
No visitors permitted into our hospitals at the moment so the opening times are not valid to the public. The hospital canteen is located on the ground floor off the main corridor. Opening hours are 9.30am to 11am and 1pm to 2pm.
Vending machines
Vending Machines are located on the ground and first floors.
Transport
Nenagh town is serviced by Bus Eireann from Limerick and Dublin and also by Rapid Express bus service. The train station is situated 5 minutes walk from the hospital. The reception staff can call a taxi for you.
Shop
There is no shop on site. There is a newspaper round daily from the local shop.
Pharmacy
The hospital pharmacy is located on the ground floor of the hospital. The pharmacy service caters for inpatients only.
ATM machines
There are no ATMs in the hospital. The nearest ATM’s are located in the Bank of Ireland in the centre of Nenagh town.
WiFi
There is no wifi available at the hospital.
Chapel
There is a church located to the rear of the main hospital building where weekend masses take place. These are relayed to patients via the TV channel. Multi faith chaplains are available on request.
PALS
The Patient Advocacy Liaison Service (PALS) volunteers help patients and visitors in University Hospital Limerick, Nenagh Hospital and Ennis Hospital. PALS volunteers welcome patients and visitors and help them find their way around our hospitals. They serve in a variety of roles; way-finders, patient companions, information guides. Volunteers also help with any general queries people may have. This could be arranging a taxi or how to give feedback on their hospital experience. They are dressed in red with an embroidered yellow logo. Payment information
You can pay your bill over the phone, by post or in person at the patient accounts office. The office is open Monday to Friday 9am to 1pm and 2pm to 4.30pm. Directions: Enter the main entrance of the hospital. The Patients Accounts Office is in the front main hall of hospital. There is a sign for admissions on the door. Visiting Guidelines
- Do not visit a patient if you have been sick recently
- Visiting restrictions may have to be put in place from time to time
- Please use hand hygiene gel when you enter and leave the hospital. Clean hands save lives.
- Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times.
- We have a no flowers policy at University of Limerick Hospitals Group. This is for health and safety reasons.
Smoke-free campus
All our hospitals are smoke-free campuses. Smoking is not allowed throughout the hospital and the hospital grounds. Supports available to give up smoking
