Mr Peter Leyden
Peter Leyden is a Clare native, educated at Clarecastle NS, St Flannan’s College, Ennis and NUI Galway where he attained his primary medical degree achieving the gold medal in Otolaryngology. Thereafter, he specialised in Otolaryngology under the NHS Northern Ireland / Queen’s University ENT training scheme, spending his Clinical Fellowship year in the University of Essen, Germany in the year 2000. He has lived in Belfast for 28 years and was a full time NHS ENT consultant at the Southern Health and Social Care Trust, Northern Ireland, for 18 years until he joined the ENT team in UHLG, 2018. Peter has a special interest in Rhinology, specifically rhinitis and rhino-sinusitis plus endonasal sinus surgery. He also has been lead paediatric hearing impairment consultant in his former position. Peter is a GMC accredited ENT educational trainer. He practices as an ENT generalist in Limerick.
