Avoiding contact with sick people when pregnant

If you are pregnant, you should avoid coming into contact with people who are sick.

If someone who lives with you becomes sick, you should reduce contact with them. Have someone else look after them if possible.

Always wash your hands after you have been in contact with someone who is sick. Remember to wash your hands after changing nappies or cleaning up after someone who is ill.

Important

Contact your GP immediately if you have come into contact with an infectious disease like measles or chickenpox.
