Distress and thoughts of self-harm during pregnancy

Mental health problems in pregnancy are common and can be treated.

Contact your midwife, GP or your nearest hospital emergency department (A&E) if you feel:

  • distressed
  • extremely low
  • severe anxiety
  • in crisis
  • at risk of hurting or harming yourself
